How much MAXALT MIGRAINE RELIEF can I take?

The standard dose is 10 mg, which is equal to 2 x 5 mg wafers. If the first MAXALT MIGRAINE RELIEF dose helps your migraine but it comes back later, you may take another 2 wafers, at least 2 hours after the first dose. Do not take more than 30 mg (6 x MAXALT MIGRAINE RELIEF 5 mg wafers) in a 24-hour period.

How do I take MAXALT MIGRAINE RELIEF?

Fast-dissolving MAXALT MIGRAINE RELIEF wafers can be taken without water. Place each wafer on your tongue with dry hands. Wafers will dissolve rapidly and be swallowed with your saliva.

When should I take MAXALT MIGRAINE RELIEF?

MAXALT is most effective when taken as early as possible in a migraine attack, when your migraine headache or other migraine symptoms start. MAXALT MIGRAINE RELIEF can still provide migraine relief if taken later during the migraine attack.

Does MAXALT MIGRAINE RELIEF have any side effects?

Who should not take MAXALT MIGRAINE RELIEF?

You should not take MAXALT MIGRAINE RELIEF if you are allergic to rizatriptan benzoate, or any of the ingredients listed on the pack. MAXALT MIGRAINE RELIEF may not be suitable for you if you have or have previously had certain medical conditions. If you have taken monoamine oxidase inhibitors in the last 2 weeks, you should not take MAXALT MIGRAINE RELIEF. Always tell your pharmacist about any allergies, medical conditions or medications you are taking before using MAXALT MIGRAINE RELIEF.

What should I keep in mind while taking MAXALT MIGRAINE RELIEF?

MAXALT MIGRAINE RELIEF may cause dizziness or sleepiness in some people. Make sure you know how MAXALT MIGRAINE RELIEF affects you before you drive a car, operate machinery or do anything else that could be dangerous if you are sleepy or dizzy. It’s also important not to use MAXALT MIGRAINE RELIEF more than 10 days a month. Using it more often than this can cause medication overuse headache. If you feel you need MAXALT MIGRAINE RELIEF more than 10 days a month, talk to your doctor.

Can I give MAXALT MIGRAINE RELIEF to my child?

No. MAXALT MIGRAINE RELIEF should not be given to children under 18 years of age. Talk to your GP about suitable options for children with migraine.
